Madrid's Toni Kroos says Real Madrid are always after the best players in the world. Therefore, Los Blancos can bring in Paris Saint-Germain or PSG star Kylian Mbappe even though the price is very expensive.
Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since the start of the transfer window. The 22-year-old striker has just one year left on his PSG contract and is not particularly keen on signing a new contract.
"Mbappe? He is the most attractive player on the market, and he is not cheap," Kross told German media Bild, recently.
"I prefer to talk about a completed transfer. But, because Real Madrid always want the best, it wouldn't surprise me if he arrived this month."
Real Madrid want to bring in a new striker because Karim Benzema is old, which is 33 years old. The France international would be an ideal signing for Los Blancos as he could be a long-term replacement for Benzema.
PSG reportedly want to sign Lionel Messi after the Argentine star parted ways with Barcelona. Even if there is no transfer fee, Messi will demand an extraordinary salary.
Therefore, the question arises whether PSG should release one of its current high-income players in order to buy Messi. Kylian Mbappe's name was mentioned in this issue.
However, that doesn't mean Mbappe has to leave to make room for Messi. In fact, ESPN claims the arrival of Messi will increase the chances of Mbappe signing a new long-term contract at the Parc des Princes.
Spanish football expert Graham Hunter says apart from Mbappe, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's dream is to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland.
"Florentino has a dream of uniting Haaland and Mbappe in the same white shirt," Hunter told the Transfer Window podcast.
"So it required a very big war. It was a very difficult operation to complete, but that was the goal."
