Serie A giants AC Milan have officially announced that they have released one of their players, Mattia Caldara, to Serie A promotion club Venezia on loan plus a purchase option.
As is well known, the defender has just returned from an 18-month loan spell at Atalanta, where he failed to impress again.Hence, even though he took part in Milan's pre-season, no one really expected him to stay.On their official website, the Rossoneri announced Caldara's departure to Venice, who was promoted to Serie A for the upcoming season.
"AC Milan announces that an agreement has been reached with Venezia FC for the temporary transfer of Mattia Caldara, with the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season," the statement read.
As for now, Milan already has a fairly solid central defender formation with Alessio Romagnoli, Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer,
and the young star duo Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu who made no sense to keep the former Atalanta and Juventus man on the line.
