Tammy Abraham has emerged as a potential target for AS Roma as a replacement for Edin Dzeko who joined Inter Milan. The Chelsea striker is expected to move because of the difficulty of competing on the front lines of the Blues.
I Giallorossi are interested in adding a striker this summer to replace Edin Dzeko, who heads to Inter Milan. AS Roma are not the only team looking to sign the 23-year-old, as Atalanta and Arsenal are also in the race to sign the striker.
Tammy Abraham's future at Chelsea is in doubt this season. The striker is reportedly one of the players linked with a move away from the club.Abraham broke into the starting lineup during the 2019/2020 season, following the appointment of Frank Lampard and finishing the 2019/2020 season as the club's top goalscorer.
But Lampard's departure last season saw Abraham lose his place. The new manager, Thomas Tuchel, has chosen to play Kai Havertz and Oliver Giroud as the best options. The imminent return of Romelu Lukaku is also likely to put the striker under more pressure. Despite his inconsistent form, the striker has scored 30 goals in 82 appearances for Chelsea.
Tammy Abraham is not the only choice for the Giallorossi to replace Edin Dzeko. Roma have also identified Mauro Icardi and Alexander Isak as possible alternatives to the England international.
Icardi impressed in Serie A with Inter Milan before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, but the Argentine has failed to fulfill his potential in France's star-studded side. The arrival of Lionel Messi also makes PSG reportedly want to release some of their existing players.
Alexander Isak has been a consistent player for Real Sociedad since joining the club in 2019. The Swede also had an impressive display at Euro 2020.
Dusan Vlahic is another alternative that Roma are looking at, but Fiorentina's high price tag reportedly makes a deal unlikely for the Giallorossi.
