Milan tested against Panathinaikos at Nereo Rocco. Rossoneri managed to win with a score of 2-1.
Giroud became the star of the match. Because he scored a brace alias two goals at once.
This was Giroud's third goal for Milan in pre-season. He previously also scored against Nice.
Olivier Giroud also admitted that he was happy to have scored two goals for AC Milan in the match against Panathinaikos. But he did not forget to praise his colleagues who helped him score a brace.
Giroud also admitted that he was a little sorry that Milan conceded. But in general he is quite satisfied with the Rossoneri's performance.
"I am very happy. Today was a very good game for me, because I scored two goals," Giroud told Sky Sport Italia.
"I thank the players for the assists. We could have scored more goals, my [chance] also hit the post. We are improving every game by creating a lot of chances in the last few meters.
"We're sorry we conceded one goal, but I'm very satisfied with his performance," said Giroud.
Olivier Giroud also said he could be productive so far because he appeared to be more cohesive with other AC Milan squad players. He is also optimistic about the future of the Rossoneri.
"I don't think it's a matter of players or how many strikers are playing, but there is a desire to play well together and create chances," he said.
“We understand each other very well on the pitch and I have a good relationship with all my teammates. Everyone has to help and we have high hopes for the future."
The match against Panathinaikos was AC Milan's last test match before starting the official competition. After this Olivier Giroud et al will duel against Sampdoria in the inaugural match of Serie A 2021-22.
