Pastorello also said that the affection of the Nerazzurri fans made Lukaku want to stay, but circumstances forced him to leave.
Romelu Lukaku's agent, Federico Pastorello, admits he and his family have received threats over his involvement in the striker's transfer from Inter Milan to Chelsea.
Chelsea completed Lukaku's £98m transfer from Inter this week, sending the Belgian star back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.
In a statement released on Friday (13/8), Pastorello said that Lukaku's move had sparked some bad behavior from some Inter fans.
"I have always accepted and will continue to be, confrontation and constructive criticism, it is part of this world for those who play a role with considerable media relevance," Pastorello said.
"What we absolutely cannot tolerate are the lies, innuendo, insults and threats we receive [as well as against my family and daughter], which go far beyond the boundaries of civilization, decency and tolerance."
"Believe it or not, the affection of the fans and the special bond with the city of Milan made him [Lukaku] think about it for a long time: but then, once he made a decision, he did it with conviction and firmness."
"The economic aspect is the detail, but it's not the main factor on which our clients' decisions and choices are based."
"With regards to FC Internazionale, I can guarantee that CEO Giuseppe Marotta, sporting director Piero Ausilio - as well as coach Simone Inzaghi, who works here personally - are doing everything they can to prevent this transfer from happening."
"But there are circumstances that go beyond the reach of their decision-making and depend on the instructions of the [club] owners."
Chelsea will start their 2021/22 Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on Saturday (14/8).
Lukaku will not be involved in the match versus Palace and will only be able to make his second debut for the Blues next week against Arsenal.
