Transfer News: Two Bundesliga clubs, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach, are reportedly interested in signing Lazio striker Vedat Muriqi this summer. The Kosovo international had a disappointing debut season in Serie A after signing from Fenerbahce for a fairly expensive transfer in 2020.
As reported by the newspaper Il Messaggero, the 27-year-old striker from Kosovo, Vedat Muriiq was one of the most positive players in the first pre-season training session which took place at Auronzo di Cadore which took place two weeks ago but he could still leave for another club in the summer. This is because of his disappointing performance last season.
Frankfurt and Monchengladbach of the Bundesliga are both reportedly interested in signing Muriqi and Lazio have opened up the opportunity to loan the striker with a buy option embedded in his contract, however the capital club opted to loan him out with the possibility of an obligation to buy him.
While sporting director Igli Tare joined the Biancocelesti squad and staff for the second pre-season training session which took place in Marienfeld and his presence in Germany was seen as helpful in discussions about the striker's transfer.
The 27-year-old, whose contract with The Aquile runs until 2025, made 27 Serie A appearances last season for a total of 821 minutes. In that period he only scored one goal below the expected goal average of 4.6.
